The Goal

The object of the Big Mac Classic Golf Game is to collect nine (9) Game Pieces ñ one for each of the nine (9) holes listed on the Big Mac Classic Score Card ñ that add-up to the lowest score youíre able to achieve.

Game Pieces are issued by the McDeals printer on all purchases made at participating Columbus and Central Ohio McDonaldís locations between 7/14/03 and 8/10/03 or can be obtained without purchase by following the rules under Alternative Method of Entry (Click here for information on the AMOE process.)

Elements of a Valid Big Mac Classic Entry

An example of a properly filled in Big Mac Classic Score Card ñ along with the nine original Game Pieces that must be mailed-in with it ñ appears below:

For a valid entry, your properly filled-in Big Mac Classic Score Card and the nine (9) original Game Pieces ñ one for each of the nine (9) holes ñ must be mailed to the address below postmarked by 8/23/03 and received by 8/30/03.

A valid entry must also have your total score legibly written on the back of the envelope used for entry. Envelopes with no score, or a score on the back that does not match the total written on the enclosed Score Card, will be disqualified. An example of a properly addressed envelope with the score on the back appears below:

Facts and Tips

You can submit as many valid entries as you like, but only one entry per envelope and you are limited to winning only one Grand Prize.

The lowest score possible for the nine holes is 16, but a score of 30 or below should be considered competitive. To see the odds table that governs the distribution of the Game Pieces, click here.

Over the course of the game, you are quite likely to receive more than one Game Piece for a given hole. The only Game Pieces you should enclose with your entry are the nine lowest ones ñ one for each of the nine holes. It is a good strategy to keep collecting Game Pieces until the end of the game on 8/10, because you never know when a lower scoring Game Piece is going to come along. Just be sure to have your entry postmarked by Saturday, 8/23/03. The game is designed so that 13 to 17 purchases over the 4 week game period gives you a good chance of collecting at least one Game Piece for each of the nine holes. But it may take more or fewer purchases - on any given visit to the store you just never know which Game Piece you'll receive.

You may be lucky enough to receive a Game Piece called the Free Three. The Free Three Game Piece allows you to record a score of 3 on any one of the nine holes you choose. You can use as many Free Three game pieces as you can collect. An example of the Free Three Game Piece appears below:

It's smart to use the Free Three to fill in a score for hole you have not collected. Or, you can use it instead of a high score you have collected. In theory, you could submit 9 Free Threes ñ along with a properly filled in score card and properly formatted envelope ñ for a total score of 27.

Winning

The lowest valid score submitted - whether held by one player or 500 - will share a $5,000 cash pool. So, if there are 100 valid scores of 16, each player with a valid 16 will receive a check for $50. These checks will be sent on or about 9/30/03. It is possible for a player to win more than one cash prize.

The 3,000 lowest scores are entered into a Grand Prize drawing to be held on or about 9/17/03. (To view a list of the Grand Prizes click here.) The lowest 3,000 scores are determined by starting with the lowest score and adding successively higher scores until there are a total of 3,000 players. So, for example, if there are 100 players with 16, 2,800 players with 17, and 4,000 players with 18, the 2,900 players with 16 and 17 are in the drawing, as are 100 randomly selected players from the 4,000 with 18, rounding out the universe for the Grand Prize drawing to 3,000. Players are limited to winning only one Grand Prize.

Instant win food prizes are claimed by presenting the Instant Win Stub found on select Game Pieces at participating Columbus and Central Ohio locations by 8/31/03. An example of a properly removed Instant Win Stub appears below:

Please take great care removing your Instant Win Stub as you do not want to damage the main Game Piece. This is particularly important as the Instant Win Stubs are associated with the best, low scoring game pieces. Proper removal of the Instant Win Stub will not affect the validity of the Game Piece you submit. Game Pieces with damaged or absent tracking codes ñ the numbers that appear in the blue boxes on the pictures above ñ will be invalidated.

There is also an Instant Win Stubs good for a free round of golf at Crystal Springs Golf Course. You must call Crystal Springs (number listed on the Instant Win Stub) to schedule your round before you claim your prize. Also keep in mind that the free round is only valid Monday through Friday. Only the Instant Win Stub portion needs to be presented at the golf course which is located at 745 N. Hopewell Road, Hopewell, OH 43746.

Lastly, there is an Instant Win Stub that is an invitation to a Hole-in-One Contest that will take place at Blackhawk Golf Club on 9/26/03. To participate, you must call Blackhawk Golf Club at 740-965-1042 by 5:00 p.m. EDT on 9/8/03 and register. Contestants MUST present the Invitation Stub at the event no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday 9/26/03. If you shoot a hole-in-one it's worth $25,000! Closest to the hole (given that there's no hole-in-one) will win $2,500. A picture of the Hole-in-One Invite appears below:

Again, take great care removing your Instant Win Stub as you do not want to damage the main Game Piece.
