McDonaldís Big Mac Classic Golf Game
OFFICIAL RULES

Game is open only to legal residents of the state of Ohio who are 18 years of age or older at time of participation. Winners may be required to provide proof of Ohio residency at time prize is claimed. Age and residency requirements do not apply to McDonaldís food prizes. Void where prohibited. All federal and Ohio state laws and regulations apply. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes: (a) persons who from and after May 14, 2003 were or are employees or agents of McDonaldís Corporation, (ìSponsorî) or Catalina Marketing Corporation, their franchisees, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, prize suppliers or independent contractors of any of the above organizations; (b) individuals engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for this game; (c) persons who are immediate family of any person in any of the preceding categories (including mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or spouse), regardless of where they live; or (d) persons who reside in the same household, whether related or not, of any person in any of the preceding categories.

With each food transaction at a participating Columbus and Central Ohio McDonaldís restaurant during the program period, you will receive one (1) Big Mac Classic Game Piece, generated randomly and instantly at the register. To be eligible to win, you must collect nine individual Game Pieces, one for each of the nine golf holes. Each Game Piece indicates your score for a specific hole listed on the Official Big Mac Classic Score Card. Official Big Mac Classic Score Cards are available at participating McDonaldís while supplies last or at www.bigmacclassic.com. The object of the Game is to collect nine Game Pieces ñ one for each hole ñ that add-up to the lowest score you are able to achieve. Write your score for each of the 9 holes in the Your Lowest Score box indicated on the Big Mac Classic Score Card. You must submit a properly filled-in Big Mac Classic Score Card along with the nine original game pieces for entry.

You may also receive a Free Three Game Piece which may be used in place of any Game Piece for any one of the nine holes. Free Three Game Pieces are always worth a score of ì3î and you may use as many Free Three Game Pieces as you can collect in order to fill out your Score Card.

For entry, complete the required information on the Big Mac Classic Score Card and mail it to the address listed on the Score Card along with all nine (9) of your original nine (9) Game Pieces. All players submitting what ultimately turns out to be the lowest score will be eligible to share an equal portion of the $5,000 cash prize pool. The 3,000 lowest scores submitted will also be entered into a drawing to win one of the Grand Prizes. Tie-breaking rules for the cash prize pool and the Grand Prize Drawing universe are described in Section 7.

Some Game Pieces also include a special section (Instant Win Stub) that can be removed and redeemed for instant win food prizes or local sponsored prizes (described below). These Stubs can be cut from the original Big Mac Classic Game Piece before it is submitted for entry with the Big Mac Classic Score Card.

Mail-in requests must be mailed separately, postmarked by 08/11/03 and received by 08/18/03, and are limited to one request per day, per individual or household address. Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, damaged, incorrectly addressed, late, lost, stolen, misdirected, postage due and oversized requests or mail. Such requests or mail will be void and will not be returned.

Food prizes, as indicated on a separate tabbed portion of randomly seeded Big Mac Classic Game Pieces ("Instant Win Stub"), are instantly awarded when an Instant Win Stub is presented at a participating McDonaldís Restaurant. The McDonald's crew person will take possession of the Instant Win Stub when the prize is redeemed. Be sure to cut the Instant Win Stub off from the Game Piece, being careful not to damage the remainder of the Game Piece. Do not submit your entire Big Mac Classic Game Piece when redeeming Instant Win food prizes as you will likely want to save it for entry into the game. Proper removal of the Instant Win Stub (using the dashed, "cut here" line) will not affect the validity of the Game Piece. All food prizes must be claimed by 08/31/03 and will not be honored after that date. There is no limit on redemption of food prizes, except that only one food prize will be honored per store visit. A store visit consists of a three-hour time span. The Instant Win prize valid for a free round of golf for one golfer at Crystal Springs Golf Club, 745 N. Hopewell Road, Hopewell, OH 43746 will be honored when the appropriate Instant Win Stub is presented at Crystal Springs Golf Club before the expiration date of 9/30/03. The starter or other official at Crystal Springs Golf Club will take possession of the Instant Win Stub when the prize is redeemed. Do not turn in your entire Big Mac Classic Game Piece when redeeming the Instant Win Stub for a free round of golf. You must call the Crystal Springs Golf Club at 1-800-787-1705 and schedule your round of golf before trying to redeem your Instant Win Stub for a free round of golf. Though every effort will be made to accommodate winners, there is no guarantee that the time and date you choose will be available. All rules and regulations of the Crystal Springs Golf Club are in force and must be complied with when redeeming a free round of golf.

Some Big Mac Classic Game Pieces have been randomly seeded with a separate tabbed portion containing an invitation to participate in a Hole-in-One Contest ("Invitation Stub") to take place at Blackhawk Golf Club on 9/26/03. To participate, you must call Blackhawk Golf Club at 740-965-1042 by 5:00 p.m. EST on 9/8/03 to register. Contestants must present the Invitation Stub at the event no later than 3:00 p.m. on 9/26/03. The Invitation Stub is transferable, so non-golfers who receive it may give it to friends or family who golf. Members of the PGA or LPGA are ineligible. An individual can only use one (1) invitation which is good for one (1) shot on the hole of the sponsors' choosing. The Hole-in-One contest is open only to legal residents of Ohio who are 18 years of age or older at time of participation, and participants may be required to provide proof of age and Ohio residency when presenting the Invitation Stub at Blackhawk Golf Club. The participant(s) who score a Hole-in-One will receive a check for $25,000 within 45 days of the end of the Hole-In-One Contest. In the event no Hole-in-One is scored, the shot closest to the hole as determined by the sponsors' appointed judges will receive a check for $2,500 within 45 days of the end of the Hole-in-One contest. Ties will be broken by additional shots as needed on the same hole or a hole of the sponsor's choosing. In the event a Hole-in-One is made during a tie-breaking shot, the $25,000 will not be paid, only the $2,500 prize for closest to the hole will be awarded.

Retail value of food prizes varies by store location. Please see menu board. The value of the free round of golf for one with cart at Crystal Springs Golf Club is $29.00. The value of the invitation to the Hole-in-One contest depends upon the player's performance.

When the nine (9) holes listed on the Big Mac Classic Score Card are completed to your satisfaction, mail all nine (9) original Big Mac Classic Game Pieces and a properly filled-in Big Mac Classic Score Card to:

Please make a copy of your entry for your records. All nine (9) of the Big Mac Classic Game Pieces and the Big Mac Classic Official Score Card required for entry must be enclosed in one (1) envelope. Be sure to legibly write your total score on the back of the envelope. Multiple entries per household, family or individual are allowed, but only one (1) winner per household, family or individual will be honored. Those players who collect the lowest score share in the $5,000 cash prize pool. The lowest possible score is 16. If no player scores 16, then the lowest will be 17, and so on. Regardless of which score is ultimately the lowest score turned in, all the players validated with that score will receive an equal share of the $5,000 cash prize pool. In the unlikely event that there are more than 500 players with the same lowest score, there will be a separate drawing among those players to narrow the pool to a maximum of 500 cash prize winners. The lowest 3,000 scores will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing (prizes described below). The 3,000 lowest scores are determined by beginning with entrants with the lowest possible score of 16 and adding entrants with successively higher scores until 3,000 are entered into a drawing for the Grand Prize. This method of adding entrants with progressively higher scores will likely require a separate random drawing among those players with the highest of the low scores to achieve a capped pool of 3,000 entrants. All entries must be postmarked by 08/23/03 and received by 08/30/03. Winners will be validated on or about 9/17/03. Grand Prize sweepstakes winners will be drawn on or about 9/17/03. A winners list will be posted at www.bigmacclassic.com. Checks for winners of the Lowest-Score Cash Prize Pool will be sent on or about 9/30/03. Grand Prizes may take longer to fulfill. Odds of winning all or part of $5,000 Lowest-Score Cash Prize Pool are dependent on the number of verified Big Mac Classic Golf Game entrants with the lowest score(s). Odds of being one of the 3,000 lowest scores entered into the Grand Prize Drawing are dependent on the number of verified Big Mac Classic Golf Game entrants with the lowest scores and any separate drawing required to narrow entrants with equally low scores to achieve a capped pool of 3,000.

The random drawing will take place on or about 09/17/03 for the following prize(s):

1. 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE 7 Passenger 5 Speed Automatic. (1 available) from Tansky Sawmill Toyota of Columbus. Toyota Sienna XLE with XLE Option package and standard available colors. Winner must have a valid Ohio Driverís License at time prize is claimed. Winner is solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein including, but not limited to, automobile registration, automobile insurance and inspection and all applicable taxes (MSRP $35,000). Prize must be claimed within 30 days of notification or prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Odds of winning 1:3,000 and dependent on the number of valid entries received. All entries become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
2. First Prize ñ (10 available) Vacation packages to Orlando, Florida from VISIT FLORIDA. Each package includes round trip air transportation for two from AirTran Airways from Dayton or Akron/Canton to Orlando, Florida and three nightsí hotel accommodations at the Celebration Hotel including 18-holes of golf for two (2) including (1) cart and greens fees. Valid for one year from the end of the promotion and blackout dates may apply. Redemption instructions will accompany all certificates. Certificates will be mailed to the winners 6-8 weeks after winners have been drawn and verified. (MSRP $1,650 per trip)
3. Second Prize ñ (10 available) $100 Gift cards from Galyans Trading Company. Gift cards will be mailed within 4 ñ 6 weeks of validation of winners. No cash back. Expires 4/30/04.

Each Big Mac Classic Game Piece contains a unique serial number and can be submitted only once to enter a sweepstakes or claim an instant food prize. Intentional reuse of Big Mac Classic Game Pieces constitutes fraud. Counterfeiting or altering Big Mac Classic Game Pieces constitutes fraud. Writing the wrong total on the back of the envelope you submit for entry will result in disqualification. Please report any suspected fraud to our customer service department at . NOTE: You are not a winner of any prize until your official Big Mac Classic Game Pieces and Score Card have been submitted for entry in a drawing and verified at the Redemption Center, verified at a participating local sponsor, or a participating McDonaldís restaurant, whichever is applicable in accordance with these Official Rules. Once submitted, Big Mac Classic Game Pieces become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Only winners of the drawings will be notified. McDonaldís can use the names, addresses and phone numbers of customers entering the drawings for the purpose of communicating with the customer about the Big Mac Classic Golf Game.

By participating, participants agree (a) to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors which shall be final and binding in all respects; (b) to release the Sponsors and their respective parent companies, franchisees, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, employees, officers, directors and agents from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and/or property which may be sustained in connection with participation in the Game and/or the receipt, ownership or use/misuse of any prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity; and (c) to warrant that they are eligible to participate in the Game.

Any costs, including all applicable taxes and fees, associated with a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. All prizes are available to be won based on sufficient consumer participation. If all available prizes are not awarded by the end of the program period or are won but remain unclaimed, such prizes will not be awarded. No substitution or cash redemption of prizes by winners is permitted. Prizes are not transferable except for the Crystal Springs Golf prize and the right to participate in the Hole-in-One contest. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prizes of equal or greater value due to prize unavailability for any reason. No other substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and a publicity release. Prize may be awarded to an alternate winner if affidavit is not returned within the required time stated on the affidavit after mailing to winner or if prize or prize notification letter is returned as undeliverable.

By accepting a prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor shall have the right to use the winnerís name, voice, and likeness, and any photographs, films, or recordings made thereof, in any manner and in any media, including the internet, at their sole discretion, for advertising or promotional purposes without further consideration for such use.

No responsibility is assumed by Sponsor for technical, electronic, cash register, telephone, hardware, software or network, computer or data transmission errors, malfunctions or difficulties of any kind or for lost, late, stolen, illegible, postage-due or misdirected entries. No photocopied or mechanically reproduced Big Mac Classic Game Pieces are permitted. Big Mac Classic Score Cards must be obtained in-store or printed via computer by going to . Big Mac Classic Game Pieces and Big Mac Classic Score Cards are null and void and will be rejected if not obtained through authorized legitimate channels or if any part is altered, defaced, counterfeited, illegible, incomplete, mutilated or tampered with in any way or if they contain any mechanical/typographical or other errors. Liabilities for any irregular or unverified Big Mac Classic Game Piece is limited to replacement with one free Game Piece while supplies last.

Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this sweepstakes, including, but not limited to, errors in advertising, the Official Rules, the selection and announcement of the winners or the distribution of the prizes. Subject to any governmental approval which may be required, Sponsor reserves the right, without prior notice and at any time, to terminate or suspend the Game, in whole or in part, or modify the Game in any way, should any factor (including but not limited to fraud or security breach) interfere with the sweepstakeís proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules, or if Sponsor believes that the Game has been or will be compromised in any way. In the event that more prizes are claimed than as set forth in these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a random drawing from among all those eligible claimants to determine the winners of the prizes offered. Only the prizes described and quantity of prizes offered in these Official Rules will be available to be won in the Game. In no event will more prizes be awarded than those listed in these Official Rules. Anyone found attempting to defraud Sponsor in any way will be disqualified and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Participants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.

In the event the point-of-sale cash register system, the Checkout PrizesÆ printer and/or Checkout PrizesÆ program enter a ìdown timeî mode, the Big Mac Classic Golf Game will become inactive. In this ìdown timeî state, the Big Mac Classic Golf Game is inoperable, but the integrity of the game remains intact when reactivated.
